Donation And Charity To The Orphans
And Poor
It is estimated there are 300
million children worldwide who are subjected to violence, exploitation and
abuse. Over 143 million of these children are orphans: children from birth to
17 years old who have lost one or both parents. These are children subject to
disease, child labor and child trafficking.
Since 1992, Slaves of Allah
International and its humanitarian aid program called Orphan Care International
has been committed to making life better for orphans, vulnerable children and
families. The needs can feel overwhelming at times, but behind every need there
is a story – the face of a child or a family.
[2:215] "They ask you about
giving: say, "The charity you give shall go to the parents, the relatives,
the orphans, the poor, and the traveling alien." Any good you do, God is
fully aware thereof."
[9:60] Charities(Sadaqaat) shall go
to the poor, the needy, the workers who collect them, the new converts, to free
the slaves, to those burdened by sudden expenses, in the cause of Allah, and to
the traveling alien. Such is GOD's commandment. GOD is Omniscient, Most Wise.
[2:3] who believe in the unseen, observe the
Contact Prayers (Salat), and from our provisions to them, they give to charity.
[2:43] You shall observe the
Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory charity (Zakat), and bow down
with those who bow down.
[2:83] We made a covenant with the Children of
Israel: "You shall not worship except GOD. You shall honor your parents
and regard the relatives, the orphans, and the poor. You shall treat the people
amicably. You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat) and give the obligatory
charity (Zakat)." But you turned away, except a few of you, and you became
averse.
[2:110] You shall observe the Contact Prayers (Salat)
and give the obligatory charity (Zakat). Any good you send forth on behalf of
your souls, you will find it at Allah. Allah is seer of everything you do.

Prophet Muhammad (SAAS) stated, “The most loved homes to G’d, mighty & sublime, are homes in which the orphan is honored.”
ReplyDeleteAccording to Islamic law (shari’ah), Muslims have a responsibility to show benevolence and care for orphans. Orphans according to the Islamic definition are those children, who are left with no protection from their fathers due to death. Traditionally in the history of humanity, men have been the maintainers of their families not only monetarily but also in providing physical protection. In this context, orphans are vulnerable and need aid and protection from the community even if their mothers are still living.
"One who cares for widows and the poor is like those who fight in the way of Allah or those who spend their days fasting and their nights praying." [Agreed upon, also in Adab al-Mufrad of Imaam Al-Bukhari in chapter "The Virtue of Those Who Care for Orphans"]
Would you like your heart to soften and Allah subhaanahuwata`aalaa to answer your prayers?
A man once came to the Messenger of Allah, sallallaahu`alaihiwasallam, and complained that he feels hardness in his heart. The Messenger of Allah said, what translated means, "Would you like that your heart becomes soft and that you acquire what you need? Be merciful with the orphan, pat his head and feed him from what you eat. This will soften your heart, and enable you to get what you need." [At-Tabaraanee & As-Silsilah as-Saheehah]
